1
At 15½, enroll in a state-approved Oklahoma Online Teen Drivers Ed course with Get Drivers Ed to prepare for your learner’s permit.
2
Apply at the Oklahoma DPS, bring the required documents, pass a vision screening, and take the written knowledge exam. With driver ed, you may apply for a permit at 15½; without, you must be at least 16.
3
Hold your permit for at least 6 months, log 50 supervised driving hours (10 at night) with a licensed adult 21 or older, and maintain a clean driving record. Then, schedule your road test.
4
At 16, pass the road test to earn your intermediate license. Full, unrestricted driving privileges are granted at 18, or earlier at 16½ if you’ve completed driver ed and maintained a violation-free record.
