HAZWOPER Basic Training

HAZWOPER stands for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response. It is a certification program designed to ensure workers and supervisors involved in hazardous waste operations or emergency response can perform their jobs safely and in compliance with OSHA regulations.

Workers who handle, clean up, or dispose of hazardous materials, as well as emergency responders dealing with hazardous substance releases, are required to complete HAZWOPER training. The OSHA standard 29 CFR Part 1910.120 mandates that these individuals receive proper training to protect themselves and others from harm.

To earn certification, you must complete OSHA-compliant training based on your job role. Options include 40-hour, 24-hour, and 8-hour refresher courses. Training can be completed online or in person, followed by passing a final exam to receive your certification.
